Safety of optimumnano battery
 
1. for cells:
 

  •  Break Protection: When the internal pressure in the single cell reaches its limits, the Gas Release Vent will turn around, the positive and negative welded plate shall break apart, the circuit inside shut down
  •  Anti-explosion Protection: If the air inside the cell or liquid injection is too much, or over charge, over discharge, then the pressure could reaches its limits, the Gas Release Vent shall be cracked, through which the air can be quickly exhausted, and then the explosion can be avoided.
  •  PTC Protection: PTC is the heat sensitive device, which can be used to protect the battery pack against over current or high temperature, when it’s over current or overheat, the resistance of the PTC shall be raised, until it becomes the insulator, the current can’t pass through, the whole circuit ought to be shut down.

the point 3 only for the high rate cells for electric vehicle, we do not produce such cells now, our 32650 cells without this protection
 
2. for battery pack
 
We have the PCM(with MOS) and PCB for safety protection

  •   the PCM is built to detect the battery voltage and current. 

When the battery is over voltage, low voltage or over current, it will cut off to protect the battery from over charge and over discharge.

  • the PCB board is build to short circuit protection, it is the secondary protecion

When the current is too large than the limited current, the battery will be protected from short circuit.
We have the fuse on the PCB. if one cell is broken, the fuse will be used to separate the cell from others.
